I was active in sports growing up in Kenora, Ontario, and played typical high-school sports. I had an interest in bodybuilding and entered my first competition, placing in the top three before finding CrossFit. I moved to London in 2015 to attend Fanshawe College.
The science of bodybuilding and the biomechanics of functional fitness have always been an interest to me. I enjoy working with the general population to improve functional fitness, with the goal of improving how people live their lives.
As a coach, I have worked with a range of clients from those beginning their fitness journey to endurance athletes, to weightlifting athletes and cross-fit competitors. Every client has their own individual goals and motivations and, while we often think of performance-based goals in terms of quantum (ex. I want to bench press 200 pounds) functional fitness is about building a strong foundation to enable you to live your everyday life. Many of my clients come to me complaining of pain or injury and a turning point for me early in my career was being able to help these folks eliminate pain, move better, and make improvements to their daily lives.
Trying to keep up with my wife is my motivation. I enjoy CrossFit and look forward to bringing functional fitness to a small community. It is not just about what happens in the gym.
